Kempambudhi tank and its historical features
Chamarajpet, Bengaluru, Karnataka

After establishing Bangalore, Kempe Gowda built several tanks and ponds in and around the city to provide continuous water supply to his subjects. Kempambudhi Tank is ascribed to this period around the 1550s. The tanks and its historical features are vulnerable as the lake is not preserved. There is debris all around and vegetation growth is threatening it. It needs to be integrated with a lake development program.
