Tipong Tourism Development Plan, Margherita, Assam

  • Coal India has approached INTACH for the development of the Heritage Mining Tourism Development Plan for Upper Assam.
  • For the same INTACH team visited Tipong, Margherita, Tinsukia, Ledo and Dibrugarh from 22nd March 2022 – 25th March 2022, for the preparation of Heritage Mining Tourism Destination Plan at Tipong, Assam and Upper Assam Tourism Circuit Development.
  • INTACH submitted a phase wise preliminary proposal for the same to the NEC (Northeastern Coalfields), Margherita, Assam, which was approved for phase I of DPR preparation.
  • INTACH team visited Tipong in March 2023 for a week to undertake a detailed survey. The DPR is being currently prepared.
